Ingredients
Method
- Rinse the celery sticks under cool running water. Pat them dry so the peanut butter sticks well. Cut each stick in half to make six even logs.
- Scoop the peanut butter into the groove of each celery piece. Spread it with a small knife or spoon until it is level. Make sure every log gets an even layer.
- Press the raisins gently into the peanut butter. I add about five raisins to each log. Line them up in a row, or scatter them for a playful look.
Notes
- I always dry the celery well, because wet stalks make the peanut butter slide off.
- I stir my peanut butter before measuring, so it spreads smoothly instead of clumping.
- I pick the thickest celery stalks, since they hold more filling and look neater.
- I let my kids place the raisins, because it keeps them busy and happy.
- I cut the celery into shorter pieces for toddlers, so the logs are easier to hold.
- I spread the filling right up to the edges, so every bite has the perfect mix.
- I set out little bowls of toppings, so each child can design their own row of ants.
- I tap the filled logs gently on the plate, which settles the raisins in place.
- I keep the raisins in a small bowl and count them out, so each log gets the same number.
- I chill the celery for ten minutes before filling, because cold stalks snap with an extra crunch.
