Chick Fil A Grilled Chicken Club Recipe

I tried making this Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club at home, and honestly, it turned out better than I expected. The smoky grilled chicken combined with crispy bacon made it feel like a restaurant-style meal. I loved how fresh everything tasted when I made it myself. It’s one of those recipes I now keep in my weekly rotation
Total Time 40 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts – slice evenly so they cook faster and stay juicy on the grill
  • 1/2 cup pickle juice – this is the secret marinade that gives that signature tangy flavor and tenderness
  • 1/2 cup milk – helps balance the acidity of pickle juice for a softer chicken texture
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar – adds slight sweetness similar to restaurant-style flavor balance
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder – enhances savory depth without overpowering the chicken
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder – gives subtle aromatic flavor in every bite
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika – adds mild smokiness and a beautiful grilled color
  • Salt and black pepper to taste – essential for properly seasoning the chicken
  • 4 slices bacon – crispy bacon adds smoky flavor and crunchy texture
  • 4 slices Colby Jack cheese – melts smoothly and adds creamy richness
  • 4 multigrain sandwich buns – hearty base with slight sweetness for balance
  • Lettuce leaves – fresh crunch that balances the richness of chicken and bacon
  • Tomato slices – adds juiciness and freshness to the sandwich
  • 2 tablespoons honey roasted BBQ sauce – sweet and smoky finish that ties everything together

Method

  1. I started by mixing pickle juice, milk, sugar, and spices in a bowl. Then I placed the chicken breasts inside and let them soak up all that flavor.
  2. I recommend marinating for at least 1–2 hours for best results. This step is what gives the chicken its signature Chick-fil-A taste.
  3. I preheated my grill and cooked the marinated chicken until it was golden and juicy. The smell while grilling was absolutely amazing.
  4. Make sure you don’t overcook it, or the chicken may turn dry. I grilled each side until nice char marks appeared.
  5. While the chicken rested, I cooked bacon in a skillet until it turned crispy and golden. This adds the perfect crunch.
  6. I always drain excess fat on a paper towel to keep it crisp for layering.
  7. I toasted the buns lightly to add warmth and texture. Then I layered lettuce, tomato, grilled chicken, bacon, and cheese.
  8. Finally, I drizzled honey roasted BBQ sauce for that classic finishing touch. Every bite was packed with flavor.

Notes

  • I always marinate overnight for deeper flavor and juicier chicken
  • I avoid over-flipping the chicken to keep grill marks perfect
  • I toast buns lightly to prevent sogginess from sauce
  • I use thick-cut bacon for better texture contrast
  • I let chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing to lock in juices
