Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Hearts Recipe

I still remember how fun it was the first time I made these Chocolate-Covered Pretzel Hearts. I had chocolate melting, sprinkles everywhere, and a big smile on my face. It felt like one of those simple recipes that instantly puts you in a good mood.
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 36 mini heart-shaped pretzels – the sturdy shape holds the chocolate well and gives that adorable heart look.
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips or candy melts – they melt smoothly and set with a glossy finish.
  • ½ cup red candy melts – perfect for adding color and Valentine vibes.
  • ½ cup pink candy melts – adds contrast and makes the pretzels look extra festive.
  • ¼ cup Valentine’s themed sprinkles – for crunch color, and decoration.
  • 1 teaspoon neutral oil optional – helps thin the chocolate for easier dipping if needed.

Method

  1. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place the pretzel hearts evenly spaced. This keeps them neat and makes cleanup easy.
  2. Melt the white chocolate and colored candy melts separately in the microwave. Heat in short intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Spoon or pipe the melted chocolate into the center of each pretzel heart. Make sure the chocolate fills the shape evenly for a clean finish.
  4. While the chocolate is still soft, add sprinkles or drizzle with another color. This helps everything stick and look polished.
  5. Place the tray in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Once the chocolate is firm, the pretzels are ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • I always melt chocolate slowly to avoid burning or grainy texture.
  • I decorate right away so the sprinkles stick perfectly.
  • I use room-temperature pretzels so moisture doesn’t affect the chocolate.
  • I like mixing colors to make the tray look more eye-catching.
