Cinnamon Roll Dippers Recipe

When I first made cinnamon roll dippers, they instantly became a family favorite in my home. There’s something so fun about these bite-sized treats; they’re like the younger, more playful sibling of traditional cinnamon rolls! The best part? You can dip them into a variety of sweet glazes, which feels like you’re customizing every bite.

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour
  • Sugar white and brown
  • Butter
  • Milk
  • Cinnamon
  • Cream cheese
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla extract

Method

  1. If you’re using homemade dough, start by mixing your flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add in your wet ingredients and knead until smooth. For store-bought dough, allow it to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before rolling it out.
  2. Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Melt some butter and have it ready for brushing over the dough. This filling will form the sweet, flavorful core of your dippers!
  3. On a floured surface, roll out your dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly across the surface.
  4. Roll the rectangular dough tightly into a log. Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1-inch pieces. Place these mini-rolls flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Bake the dippers for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Once out of the oven, allow them to cool slightly before serving.
  6. While the dippers bake, make the cream cheese glaze. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a splash of milk until smooth. You can also prepare alternate dips like caramel or chocolate at this point.

Notes

Thaw the Dough Properly: If using store-bought dough, be sure to thaw it as per the package instructions. Cold dough won’t roll out as easily.
Don’t Overfill: Although it’s tempting to pile on the cinnamon-sugar, too much can cause filling leakage during baking.
Slice with Precision: Use a sharp knife to cut cleanly through the rolled dough. This helps maintain the shape of your dippers.
