Easy Orange Creamsicle Overnight Oats Recipe

I recently made these orange creamsicle overnight oats, and honestly, they instantly reminded me of those classic orange creamsicle popsicles. The combination of creamy yogurt, sweet oranges, and soft oats creates a refreshing breakfast that feels almost like dessert.
Total Time 8 hours 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rolled oats – Old‑fashioned rolled oats work best because they absorb the liquid while still keeping a slightly chewy texture.
  • ½ cup almond milk – Almond milk gives the oats a light and creamy consistency. You can also use oat milk or cashew milk for extra richness.
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt – Greek yogurt adds creaminess protein, and a slight tang that balances the sweetness of the orange flavor.
  • 1 mandarin orange juiced – Fresh mandarin juice adds natural citrus sweetness and bright flavor to the oats.
  • 1 mandarin orange sliced – The orange segments add juicy bites throughout the oats and enhance the creamsicle taste.
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds – Chia seeds help thicken the oats while adding fiber and healthy nutrients.
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup – Maple syrup provides natural sweetness. You can adjust the amount depending on your taste.
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract – A small splash of vanilla brings everything together and creates the classic creamsicle flavor.

Method

  1. Start by placing the rolled oats into a mason jar or small bowl. Then add almond milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and fresh mandarin orange juice.
  2. Use a spoon to mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Make sure the oats are fully coated with the milk and yogurt mixture so they soften properly.
  3. Mixing well helps distribute the citrus flavor evenly and ensures the chia seeds don’t clump together.
  4. Next, fold in the sliced mandarin orange pieces. These juicy pieces give bursts of natural sweetness and make the oats taste even fresher.
  5. You can also save a few slices to use as a topping later if you prefer a prettier presentation.
  6. Seal the jar or container and place it in the refrigerator. Let the oats soak for at least two hours, but overnight soaking gives the best texture.
  7. During this time, the oats absorb the liquid, the chia seeds thicken the mixture, and all the flavors blend together.
  8. When you’re ready to eat, give the oats a quick stir. Add extra orange slices, chopped nuts, or a spoonful of yogurt on top for added flavor and texture.
  9. Enjoy the oats cold straight from the jar, or let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes if you prefer a slightly softer texture.

Notes

  • I prefer using mandarin oranges because they are sweeter and less acidic than regular oranges.
  • Sometimes I add a little orange zest to boost the citrus aroma.
  • If the oats feel too thick in the morning, I simply stir in a splash of milk.
  • I like to use vanilla Greek yogurt because it makes the oats taste even more like a creamsicle.
  • Letting the oats soak overnight instead of just two hours gives the best creamy texture
