Ginger Beer and Lime Fizz Recipe

I recently made this ginger beer and lime fizz on a warm afternoon, and honestly, it surprised me with how refreshing it turned out. The balance of spicy ginger and tangy lime felt incredibly satisfying. I love how quickly it comes together without any complicated steps. It’s now one of my go-to drinks when I want something fizzy but homemade
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ginger beer chilled – choose a good-quality ginger beer for a stronger, spicier flavor
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice – always use freshly squeezed lime juice for the best taste
  • 1 teaspoon honey or simple syrup – adjust sweetness based on your preference
  • ½ cup sparkling water optional – helps lighten the drink if ginger beer is too strong
  • Ice cubes – use clear ice if possible for a better presentation
  • Lime slices or wedges – for garnish and extra citrus aroma
  • Fresh mint leaves optional – adds a cooling freshness

Method

  1. Start by filling your glass with ice cubes to keep the drink chilled. I like to use plenty of ice so the fizz stays refreshing longer. Add a lime wedge to the glass for an extra burst of citrus aroma.
  2. Pour in the freshly squeezed lime juice over the ice. Then add honey or your preferred sweetener and stir gently until it dissolves. This step helps balance the tanginess of lime with a hint of sweetness.
  3. Slowly pour chilled ginger beer into the glass to maintain its carbonation. I usually tilt the glass slightly to keep the fizz from overflowing. This is where the drink gets its signature spicy kick.
  4. If the ginger beer feels too strong, add a splash of sparkling water. This softens the flavor while keeping it bubbly and refreshing. Stir lightly so you don’t lose the carbonation.
  5. Top your drink with fresh mint leaves and a slice of lime for garnish. Serve immediately while it’s cold and fizzy. The aroma from the mint and lime really enhances the overall experience

Notes

  • I always use freshly squeezed lime juice because bottled juice just doesn’t give the same brightness
  • Chill all your ingredients beforehand to keep the drink cold without diluting it too quickly
  • I like to lightly crush mint leaves before adding them to release more flavor
  • Use a high-quality ginger beer with natural ingredients for a more authentic taste
  • If I want a stronger citrus punch, I add a bit of lime zest along with the juice
