Grilled Asparagus Salad with Feta & Lemon Recipe

I just made this Grilled Asparagus Salad with Feta & Lemon, and honestly, it turned out amazing. The smoky flavor from the grill mixed with fresh lemon instantly won me over. I love how simple ingredients can create something so flavorful. Every bite feels light, bright, and satisfying.
Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 bunches fresh asparagus — choose thick stalks for better grilling results.
  • 2 garlic cloves minced — adds bold aroma and depth.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil — helps with grilling and enhances flavor.
  • ¼ teaspoon salt — brings out the natural taste.
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper — adds gentle spice.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice — gives bright citrus flavor.
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese — adds creamy salty balance.
  • Lemon zest optional — boosts fresh lemon aroma.

Method

  1. Start by trimming off the woody ends of the asparagus. Place the stalks in a large bowl and toss them with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Make sure each piece is evenly coated for best flavor.
  2. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking. Grill the asparagus for about 3–5 minutes, turning once, until tender and slightly charred.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together fresh lemon juice and olive oil until smooth. This simple dressing adds brightness and balances the smoky flavor.
  4. Let the grilled asparagus cool slightly, then cut into bite-sized pieces. Transfer to a serving bowl, add crumbled feta, and drizzle with the lemon dressing. Toss gently and serve immediately.

Notes

  • I always use fresh asparagus instead of pre-cut to keep it crisp.
  • I don’t overcook it — slight tenderness with char is perfect.
  • I let the asparagus cool before adding feta so it stays crumbly.
  • I use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor.
  • I taste before serving and adjust salt if needed.
