Healthy Chicken Avocado Wraps Recipe

I recently made these Healthy Chicken Avocado Wraps for a quick lunch, and they instantly became one of my favorite easy meals. The combination of tender chicken, creamy avocado, crisp vegetables, and flavorful dressing creates a wrap that feels both satisfying and refreshing. What I love most is how simple it is to prepare with everyday ingredients
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken – Rotisserie chicken works great and saves time.
  • 1 large ripe avocado diced – Use a perfectly ripe avocado for the creamiest texture.
  • 1 cup romaine lettuce chopped – Fresh lettuce adds a satisfying crunch.
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved – Sweet and juicy tomatoes brighten the filling.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese – Freshly shredded cheese melts and blends better than pre-packaged varieties.
  • cup ranch dressing – Helps bind the filling while adding flavor.
  • 4 large flour tortillas or wraps – Soft fresh tortillas roll more easily without tearing.
  • Salt to taste – Enhances the natural flavors.
  • Black pepper to taste – Adds a mild kick and depth.

Method

  1. Place the shredded chicken in a large mixing bowl. Add the diced avocado, chopped lettuce, halved tomatoes, and shredded cheese. Make sure all ingredients are evenly distributed for the best texture in every bite.
  2. Pour the ranch dressing over the mixture. Season with salt and black pepper according to your preference. Stir gently to combine everything without mashing the avocado too much.
  3. If desired, warm the tortillas for a few seconds in the microwave. This makes them softer and easier to roll. Warm tortillas are also less likely to crack during assembly.
  4. Lay each tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon an even amount of filling into the center of each wrap. Avoid overfilling so the wraps stay neatly rolled.
  5. Fold the sides inward first, then roll the tortilla tightly from the bottom up. This helps keep the filling secure and prevents ingredients from spilling out.
  6. Use a sharp knife to cut each wrap diagonally in half. Arrange them on a serving plate and serve immediately for the freshest flavor and texture.

Notes

  • I always use freshly cooked or rotisserie chicken because it stays juicy and flavorful.
  • I prefer ripe avocados that are soft but not mushy for the perfect creamy texture.
  • I chill the filling for about 10 minutes before assembling when I want extra freshness.
  • I like adding a squeeze of lemon or lime juice to keep the avocado from browning.
  • I find that whole wheat tortillas hold the filling especially well and add extra nutrition.
  • I avoid overmixing the filling because it can make the avocado too soft.
