Hot Honey Infused Feta Chicken Recipe

I just tried making this hot honey infused feta chicken, and I have to say, it completely exceeded my expectations. The combination of sweet, spicy honey with creamy feta on top of tender chicken was absolutely irresistible.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts – pounded to an even thickness for consistent cooking.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil – extra virgin works best for flavor and browning.
  • 1/2 tsp salt – season evenly for balanced flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper – freshly cracked gives more aroma.
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika – adds a subtle smoky sweetness.
  • 4 oz crumbled feta cheese – use high-quality feta for creaminess.
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese softened – ensures smooth texture.
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice – brightens up the flavors.
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder – enhances the savory taste.
  • 1/4 cup honey – raw or mild honey works best.
  • 1 –2 tsp hot sauce – adjust depending on your spice tolerance.
  • Chopped parsley or thyme for garnish optional – adds freshness and color.

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease your baking dish or line it with parchment. Preparing the dish ensures the chicken doesn’t stick and makes cleanup easier.
  2. Rub chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. This simple seasoning forms a flavorful base that complements the sweet-spicy honey and creamy feta topping.
  3. In a small bowl, combine crumbled feta, cream cheese, lemon juice, and garlic powder until smooth. Spread the mixture evenly over each chicken breast for a rich, creamy layer.
  4. Place the topped chicken in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Broil for 1–2 minutes at the end if you want a slightly golden, crispy top.
  5. While the chicken is baking, gently warm honey and hot sauce in a small saucepan. Stir until combined and adjust the heat level to your taste.
  6. Once the chicken is done, drizzle the hot honey sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped parsley or thyme for a fresh, colorful finish.

Notes

  • I always use fresh lemon juice rather than bottled—it brightens the feta mixture beautifully.
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes after baking to keep it juicy.
  • I like to broil the top for 1–2 minutes to get a lightly golden crust.
  • Adjust the hot honey drizzle slowly; I start with a small amount and add more to taste.
