Lavender Lemon Drop Martini Recipe

I still remember the first time I made this Lavender Lemon Drop Martini—it felt like bottling up spring in a glass. The soft floral aroma paired with the bright citrus hit instantly won me over. I wanted something elegant yet simple, and this drink delivered both. After a couple of tweaks, I found the perfect balance of sweet, tart, and fragrant
Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • 2 oz vodka – Use a smooth high-quality vodka for the cleanest taste.
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice – Always go fresh; bottled juice lacks brightness.
  • ¾ oz lavender simple syrup – Adds a delicate floral sweetness.
  • ½ oz triple sec – Enhances the citrus flavor with subtle orange notes.
  • Ice cubes – Essential for proper chilling and dilution.
  • Lemon twist or wheel – For garnish and added aroma.
  • Optional sugar for rim – Creates a sweet contrast to the tart drink.

Method

  1. Start by chilling your martini glass in the freezer for a few minutes. If you like a sugared rim, rub a lemon wedge around the edge and dip it in sugar. This adds a subtle sweetness to each sip.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, and dried lavender. Heat gently until the sugar dissolves, then let it steep for a few minutes. Strain out the lavender and allow the syrup to cool completely.
  3. Fresh lemon juice is key to this recipe. Squeeze your lemons just before mixing to capture their bright, tangy flavor. Avoid bottled juice as it can taste flat and overly acidic.
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add vodka, lemon juice, lavender syrup, and triple sec. Shake vigorously for about 15–20 seconds. This chills the drink and blends the flavors beautifully.
  5. Strain the mixture into your chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or wheel for a polished look. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing aroma.

Notes

  • I always taste the syrup before using it—too strong lavender can taste soapy.
  • I prefer chilling the glass longer; it keeps the drink colder for longer.
  • I sometimes add a tiny pinch of salt to balance the sweetness—it works wonders.
  • I recommend shaking longer than you think—it improves texture and dilution.
  • I like using organic lemons for a cleaner, fresher flavor.
