Pineapple-Grenadine Vino Francés Recipe

I recently tried making this Pineapple-Grenadine Vino Francés, and I have to say—it instantly became one of my favorite refreshing drinks. The balance of fruity sweetness and light wine flavors makes it perfect for relaxing evenings or casual gatherings. I love how simple ingredients come together to create something that feels elegant yet easy.
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry red or white wine – choose a light-bodied wine for better balance
  • 1 cup pineapple juice – fresh juice works best for a brighter flavor
  • 2 tablespoons grenadine syrup – adds sweetness and a beautiful color
  • 1 –2 tablespoons sugar optional – adjust based on your sweetness preference
  • 1 cup sparkling water or soda – gives a refreshing fizz
  • 1 cup ice cubes – keeps the drink chilled without diluting too quickly
  • Fresh pineapple slices – for garnish and extra aroma
  • Maraschino cherries – optional but great for presentation

Method

  1. Start by gathering and measuring all your ingredients to make the process smooth. I like to chill the wine and pineapple juice beforehand so the drink stays refreshing. Slice fresh pineapple and keep cherries ready for garnish. This small prep step makes everything come together easily.
  2. In a large pitcher, pour the wine and pineapple juice together. Stir gently so the flavors blend without losing the wine’s character. Add grenadine slowly, watching the color deepen into a beautiful reddish hue. This is where the magic of flavor starts building.
  3. Taste the mixture and decide if you want extra sweetness. Add sugar or your preferred sweetener little by little, stirring each time. I usually go light here because the grenadine already adds sweetness. Balancing flavors is key to keeping the drink refreshing.
  4. Pour in the sparkling water or soda just before serving. This keeps the drink fizzy and lively. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or directly into glasses to chill it perfectly. Stir gently to avoid losing carbonation.
  5. Pour the drink into glasses and garnish with pineapple slices and cherries. The garnish not only looks pretty but also enhances the aroma. Serve immediately while it’s cold and bubbly. Enjoy the tropical vibes in every sip!

Notes

  • I always use chilled ingredients to keep the drink refreshing without too much ice
  • Fresh pineapple juice gives a brighter, more natural flavor compared to canned
  • I prefer adding sparkling water at the end to maintain the fizz
  • Sometimes I add a squeeze of lime for a slightly tangy balance
  • For parties, I prepare the base mix early and add soda just before serving
