Rainbow Fruit Kabobs with Yogurt Dip Recipe

I recently made these Rainbow Fruit Kabobs with Yogurt Dip for a family gathering, and they disappeared from the table faster than any dessert. The bright colors instantly caught everyone's attention, and the creamy yogurt dip made every bite even more delicious
Total Time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 10 long wooden skewers cut in half – Creates approximately 20 fruit kabobs and makes serving easy.
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries – Adds a vibrant red color and sweet-tart flavor.
  • 2 oranges peeled and separated into segments – Brings juicy sweetness and bright orange color.
  • 2 cups pineapple chunks – Provides tropical flavor and a cheerful yellow hue.
  • 4 kiwi fruits peeled and sliced – Adds a fresh green color and tangy taste.
  • 1 cup blueberries – Completes the rainbow with a burst of sweetness.
  • 2 cups vanilla yogurt or plain yogurt – Forms the creamy base for the dip. If using plain yogurt add vanilla extract.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract if using plain yogurt – Enhances the dip's flavor.
  • 1/4 cup honey – Naturally sweetens the yogurt.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon – Adds warmth and depth to the dip.

Method

  1. Wash all the fruit thoroughly under cool running water. Peel the oranges and kiwi, then cut larger fruits into bite-sized pieces. Keeping the fruit pieces similar in size helps the kabobs look neat and attractive.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, honey, and cinnamon. If you're using plain yogurt, add the vanilla extract as well. Stir until the mixture becomes smooth, creamy, and evenly blended.
  3. Thread the fruit onto the skewers in rainbow order. Start with raspberries, followed by oranges, pineapple, kiwi, and blueberries. Repeat the pattern as needed to create colorful and eye-catching kabobs.
  4. Place the assembled fruit kabobs on a large serving platter. Arrange them neatly so the rainbow colors are easy to see. This presentation makes the dish look festive and inviting.
  5. Transfer the prepared yogurt dip to a small serving bowl. Position it in the center of the platter or alongside the kabobs. Guests can easily dip each fruit skewer before enjoying it.
  6. For the freshest flavor, refrigerate the platter for about 10 minutes before serving. The chilled fruit tastes extra refreshing, especially during warm weather gatherings.

Notes

  • I always choose ripe but firm fruit because it stays securely on the skewers.
  • I prefer using Greek yogurt when I want a thicker and creamier dip.
  • I chill both the fruit and dip before serving for a more refreshing bite.
  • I sometimes add a pinch of extra cinnamon for additional warmth and flavor.
  • I like arranging the fruit in perfect rainbow order because it creates a stunning presentation.
  • I prepare the dip a few hours ahead so the flavors have time to blend together.
  • I garnish the serving platter with fresh mint leaves for a beautiful finishing touch.
