Sea Breeze Drink Recipe

I recently made this Sea Breeze drink, and I have to say, it instantly became one of my favorites. The mix of fruity and tangy flavors felt so refreshing, especially on a warm day. I loved how simple it was to prepare without needing fancy skills.
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 1

Ingredients

  • vodka – 2 oz
  • cranberry juice – 3 oz
  • grapefruit juice – 1 oz
  • ice cubes – 1 cup
  • lime wedge – 1 for garnish

Method

  1. Start by selecting a tall highball glass, which works best for this drink. I usually fill the glass completely with fresh ice cubes to keep the drink chilled longer. The ice not only cools the drink but also slightly dilutes it for a smoother taste. Make sure your ice is clean and fresh because it affects the overall flavor. Once filled, set the glass aside while you prepare the mix.
  2. Using a measuring jigger, carefully pour 2 ounces of vodka. Accuracy matters here because too much can overpower the drink. Next, measure 3 ounces of cranberry juice, which gives the cocktail its signature color and sweet-tart taste. Then, add 1 ounce of grapefruit juice for a citrusy kick. I always prefer fresh grapefruit juice when possible, as it enhances the freshness.
  3. Now it’s time to combine everything. You can either pour all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice or directly into the prepared glass. If using a shaker, shake gently for about 10–15 seconds to blend flavors well. If mixing in the glass, use a stirrer or spoon to combine thoroughly. I personally enjoy shaking it because it gives a slightly frothy, well-blended finish.
  4. If you used a shaker, strain the mixture into your ice-filled glass. Check the taste at this point and adjust if needed. Sometimes I add a splash more cranberry juice if I want it sweeter. If you prefer a stronger citrus flavor, a little extra grapefruit juice works well. This step allows you to customize the drink to your liking.
  5. Finally, add a lime wedge to the rim of the glass for garnish. This small addition makes a big difference in presentation and aroma. I like squeezing the lime lightly before dropping it in for a hint of extra citrus. Serve immediately while it’s cold and refreshing. Enjoy your Sea Breeze drink right away for the best flavor experience

Notes

  • I always use chilled ingredients because it keeps the drink refreshing without needing too much ice.
  • Fresh grapefruit juice makes a noticeable difference, so I try to use it whenever possible.
  • If I want a less sweet version, I reduce the cranberry juice slightly and add more grapefruit juice.
  • I sometimes experiment with flavored vodka, like citrus or berry, for a fun twist.
  • When serving guests, I garnish with both lime and a slice of grapefruit to make it look more appealing.
