Sesame Ginger Beef Recipe

If you're like me and love bold, mouthwatering meals that come together effortlessly, this Sesame Ginger Beef recipe is about to become your new weeknight favorite. After trying it for the first time, I was hooked by the perfect combination of tender beef, fragrant ginger, and the rich nuttiness of sesame oil.
Total Time 48 minutes

Ingredients

  • Flank steak
  • Soy sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Rice vinegar
  • Fresh ginger minced
  • Garlic minced
  • Honey
  • Cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper
  • Vegetable oil
  • Red bell pepper sliced
  • Yellow bell pepper sliced
  • Snow peas
  • Green onions chopped
  • Sesame seeds
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Method

  1. Start by whisking soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced ginger, garlic, honey, and cornstarch in a mixing bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Toss the thinly sliced beef into the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to soak in.
  2. Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Once it’s hot, add the marinated beef and cook for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until it’s browned but still tender. Remove the beef and set it aside.
  3. Using the same pan, heat another tablespoon of oil and toss in the sliced red and yellow bell peppers along with the snow peas. Stir-fry them for 3-4 minutes until they’re just tender but still slightly crisp.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the skillet, mixing it well with the vegetables. Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top for added crunch and freshness. Stir everything for another minute to bring the flavors together.
  5. Plate the Sesame Ginger Beef over steamed rice or cooked noodles. Grab some chopsticks and dig into this comforting and flavorful dish!

Notes

  • Slice the beef right: Cut against the grain for melt-in-your-mouth tenderness.
  • Don’t skip marinating: It gives the beef its rich flavor!
  • Avoid overcooking: Keep an eye on the cooking times; you want the beef tender and the vegetables slightly crisp.
  • Make it bold: Feel free to taste and adjust the seasoning after combining all ingredients.
