Strawberry Jasmine Iced Tea Recipe

I first started making this Strawberry Jasmine Iced Tea when I wanted to recreate a fruity tea drink from my favorite tea shop at home. After a few tries, I discovered how beautifully the floral notes of jasmine tea blend with sweet strawberry flavor. The result is a refreshing, lightly fragrant drink that tastes both elegant and comforting
Total Time 1 hour 6 minutes
Servings: 3

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water – Use filtered water for the cleanest tea flavor.
  • 3 teaspoons jasmine pearl tea or loose-leaf jasmine tea – Provides a delicate floral aroma and smooth taste.
  • 2 heaping teaspoons strawberry tea or wild strawberry tea – Adds natural berry sweetness and a vibrant fruity flavor.
  • Ice cubes for serving – Keeps the tea perfectly chilled.
  • Fresh strawberry slices optional – Great for garnish and extra strawberry flavor.
  • Fresh mint leaves optional – Adds a refreshing finishing touch.

Method

  1. Bring 3 cups of water to approximately 180°F (82°C). Avoid boiling water because it can make jasmine tea taste bitter. Proper temperature helps preserve the delicate floral notes.
  2. Place the jasmine pearl tea in an infuser and steep it in the hot water for about 3 minutes. Once the flavor develops, remove the tea leaves. This creates a smooth and fragrant tea base.
  3. Using the brewed jasmine tea as the base, add the strawberry tea leaves. Let them steep for around 8 minutes to fully release their fruity flavor and aroma.
  4. Remove the tea leaves or strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer. This ensures a smooth texture without any loose leaves remaining in the drink.
  5. Pour the brewed tea into a clean pitcher. If desired, add a few slices of fresh strawberries to enhance the presentation and flavor.
  6. Place the pitcher in the refrigerator for approximately one hour. Chilling allows the flavors to blend together while creating a refreshing iced tea experience.
  7. Fill serving glasses with plenty of ice cubes. The ice helps keep the tea cold and refreshing, especially on warm days.
  8. Pour the chilled tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices, lemon slices, or mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • I always use high-quality loose-leaf jasmine tea because the floral flavor is much smoother.
  • I prefer filtered water since it allows the tea flavors to shine more clearly.
  • I chill the tea completely before serving to prevent dilution from excess ice.
  • I sometimes add a few fresh strawberry slices while chilling for a naturally enhanced berry taste.
  • I avoid over-steeping the jasmine tea because it can become bitter.
  • I like adding a small squeeze of lemon when serving for extra brightness.
  • I often prepare the tea a few hours ahead because the flavors deepen as it rests.
