Valentine's Day Snack Mix Recipe

I recently whipped up this Valentine’s Day Snack Mix, and I have to say—it was such a fun and easy treat to make! The combination of sweet and salty flavors instantly lifted my mood. I loved how quickly it came together, making it perfect for last-minute gifts or a cozy snack at home.
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists – Choose bite-sized pretzels for easy snacking. Pretzel sticks or nuggets also work well.
  • 2 cups whole grain cereal squares – I used Chex cereal for its crunch but you can swap with wheat, corn, or even multi-grain options. Fresh, crisp cereal works best.
  • 2 cups popcorn – Air-popped or lightly salted popcorn is ideal. Avoid pre-flavored varieties that can be too sweet or oily.
  • 1 cup lightly salted peanuts – I prefer peanuts but almonds, cashews, or sunflower seeds are great alternatives. Lightly salted nuts balance the sweetness perfectly.
  • 1 cup chocolate candies – Red and pink Valentine’s M&Ms are fun but chocolate chips or sugar-free options can work too. Choose high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.

Method

  1. I like to lay everything out on the counter before starting. It makes the process quicker and more fun. Seeing the colorful candies always excites me!
  2. Add the pretzels, cereal squares, popcorn, peanuts, and chocolate candies to a large bowl. I gently toss them with a spatula so every bite gets a bit of everything.
  3. Once mixed, you can enjoy it immediately or transfer it to an airtight container. I love storing some in small gift bags for friends—it’s such a cheerful treat!

Notes

  • I like to lightly toast the nuts for a richer flavor.
  • For extra crunch, add some cereal right before serving so it doesn’t get soggy.
  • Mixing in sprinkles adds a fun, festive look for Valentine’s Day.
  • Taste as you go—I sometimes swap chocolate candies for caramel bits for a sweet surprise.
