Viral Egg Sandwich Muffin Recipe

I recently tried making this viral egg sandwich muffin at home, and honestly, I didn’t expect it to turn out this good. It reminded me of a café-style breakfast that I used to buy on busy mornings. After one bite, I knew I had to recreate it again and again in my kitchen. It’s warm, cheesy, fluffy, and so satisfying that I now make it regularly.
Total Time 25 minutes
Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • English muffins – 2 whole muffins sliced in half
  • Eggs – 2 to 4 large eggs
  • Cheddar cheese slices – 2 to 4 slices
  • Butter – 1 to 2 tablespoons
  • Milk – 1 tablespoon optional
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black pepper – to taste
  • Cooked bacon or sausage – optional
  • Chopped green onions – 1 tablespoon optional
  • Mayonnaise or sandwich sauce – optional spread

Method

  1. Start by gathering all ingredients so everything is ready while cooking. Slice English muffins and prepare eggs, cheese, and optional fillings. This helps keep the cooking process smooth and quick.
  2. Crack eggs into a bowl and whisk them with salt, pepper, and milk. Heat a pan with butter and pour in the egg mixture. Cook gently until soft and fluffy, not dry.
  3. Toast the English muffins until they are golden and slightly crisp. This prevents sogginess when you add warm fillings. You can butter them lightly for extra flavor.
  4. Place cheese on the bottom muffin, then add warm eggs. Add bacon or veggies if using for extra texture and taste. Top with the other muffin half to complete the sandwich.
  5. If desired, place the assembled sandwich on a pan or oven. Warm it for a minute so the cheese melts perfectly inside. This step makes it extra gooey and delicious.
  6. Cut it in half if you prefer a café-style presentation. Serve immediately while it’s warm and cheesy. Enjoy the soft, crispy, and creamy bite in every mouthful.

Notes

  • I always toast the muffins slightly longer for a crunchier base.
  • I don’t overcook the eggs because soft eggs make it taste richer.
  • I add cheese while eggs are still hot so it melts naturally.
  • I sometimes use garlic butter on muffins for extra flavor depth.
  • I let the sandwich rest for 1 minute before cutting for cleaner slices.
