Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. organic chicken breasts ensures tenderness and a natural flavor
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil locks in moisture and aids in caramelization
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika imparts a subtle smoky taste
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt enhances all the flavors perfectly
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper adds a mild kick to the seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for extra heat
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter gives richness to the glaze
  • 4 garlic cloves minced (brings a savory depth to the sauce)
  • 1 cup organic raw honey the base of the sweet glaze
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper creates a signature spicy kick
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder for extra savoriness
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika adds a rich smoky undertone
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder balances heat with warmth
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes customizable to your desired spice level
  • Pinch of sea salt to tie all the flavors together

Method

  1. Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with olive oil, smoked paprika, sea salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. For enhanced flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 3 hours, or leave it overnight for an even deeper infusion.
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then sauté the minced garlic until it’s fragrant and golden. Add honey, cayenne, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Simmer the mixture gently, stirring as it begins to thicken into a luscious glaze.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F and arrange the marinated chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle about half of the prepared honey glaze over the chicken before baking. Allow the chicken to cook for 30-35 minutes, flipping it halfway for even browning. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F for safely cooked chicken.
  4. After baking, top the chicken with the remaining honey glaze. Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 2-3 minutes to crisp up the exterior. Keep a close watch to prevent burning and ensure a beautiful caramelized finish.
  5. Plate the chicken with your favorite side dish. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for an extra pop of color and flavor.

Notes

  • Rest for Perfection: Always allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes after baking. This locks in all the juices, making every bite tender and flavorful.
  • Thin the Sauce if Needed: If your glaze thickens too much, stir in a splash of water or broth to achieve a smooth consistency.
  • Taste-Test the Heat: Adjust the spice level of the glaze as you go. Add more cayenne or red pepper flakes if you enjoy a fiery kick!
